Ancient Mayan Heads

These heads we made in class were made to represent the ancient heads that the Mayan civilization had sculpted long ago. They were made from clay and were fired after they were made into a head shape, and then glazed to coat it off. Obviously, the Mayans did not have the tools that we have today so they still made the heads with clay, but had them sit in the sun rather than fired. As you can tell, the one that I made is not perfection but is at least similar to what they would have actually looked.
